Vice-Chancellor’s Awards return to celebrate colleagues’ outstanding achievements 1 May 2025 The nomination window for this year’s Vice-Chancellor’s Awards will be open throughout May 2025. The awards recognise and celebrate staff from across the University who have achieved amazing things. Any member of staff – no matter your role or seniority - can nominate an individual or team who they believe deserves broader recognition for the work they do. As one of the premier events in the University calendar, we encourage all staff to get involved and take the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of their peers over the last 12 months. Top tips on how to write a nomination can be found on the Vice-Chancellor's Awards website, alongside more information on each of our awards. There are eighteen awards available across six categories, which are as follows: Research & Innovation Impactful Research & Innovation Collaborative Research & Innovation Enabling Research Education & Student Experience Innovation & Impact In Education Learning & Teaching Excellence Enhancing The Student Experience Equity, Diversity & Inclusion EDI Enhancement Advocates & Allies Enhancing Staff/Student Wellbeing & Experience International Engagement & Impact International partnerships International Reputation Global Community Sporting Excellence & Opportunity Sporting Achievement & Leadership Sports Advancement Enabling Sporting Excellence Living The Values Sustainability Champions Unsung Hero/Heroes Above & Beyond Vice-Chancellor Nick Jennings commented: “It is hugely important to me that we take the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work of our staff over the past year. The University could not achieve what it does without the hard work, dedication and creativity of individuals and teams from across our campuses. “Building on the successes of 2023 and 2024, I encourage all colleagues to nominate those who you recognise as making a real difference. I look forward to reading the nominations and celebrating the achievements of our finalists at the awards ceremony in September.” You can hear from some of last year’s winners in our highlights from the 2024 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards ceremony:
